Agia Anna Beach

The beach of Mykonos Town is the closest and easiest to access for anyone staying in the island’s capital. It is located right in the heart of the Old Port and can be approached on foot from every part of the town.
It is a non-organized beach and usually calmer than the other popular ones on the island.
It is perfect for those who want to relax on its golden sand or have a quick swim in crystal-clear waters near their accommodation.

Megali Ammos in Mykonos is the closest beach to Mykonos Town, located within walking distance from it.
It is a quiet beach where only a few people come, mainly locals and residents of the regional lodgings. 
The beach boasts no umbrellas or sunbeds due to the strong winds.
The area is ideal for relaxation, while you can also enjoy a walk along the shore.

Paraportiani church

The lovely church of Panagia Paraportiani in Mykonos is among the most photographed church on the island.
It is located at the entrance of the Kastro neighborhood, right by the sea.
Its name (Paraportiani) translates into standing next to the door, meaning that the church lay next to the Castle door.

Windmills

Windmills of Mykonos are the most iconic feature of the island. They can be seen from almost every corner of Mykonos town, staggered along the hillside ridge above the port and are the first sight to greet visitors arriving on the island by boat. The windmills of Mykonos are the trademark of the island’s landscape.
Visitors can admire the windmills irrespective of the locale; one can figure them out thanks to their distinctive silhouette.

Milos tou Boni – Agricultural museum

This museum is situated outdoors on the top of a hill overlooking Mykonos town, Chora, providing its visitors with one of the best views of both the sunset and the Aegean sea. The main structure is a stonework windmill of the 16th century, and it takes its name from the last owner-miller George Bonis.
It became part of the museum’s collection after being bought in 1962. The complete mechanism of the windmill, as well as all the miller’s tools and equipment are on display.

A 16th century captain’s house, in the Kastro part of town. It is hosts the core of the “Folklore Collection of Mykonos”.
Here you can find numerous items of local and imported popular production, and you can experience how Mykonian life took place the last 4 centuries.

Lena’s Ηouse

“Lena’s house” is a mykonian townhouse of the 19th century, part of a larger building that belonged to the war hero – captain Nicholaos Sourmelis, and can be found in the centre of Mykonos town, Chora, in the area “Tria Pigadia”.
It became a part of the collection in 1970, after a donation by George and Ioanna Drakipoulou, along with many of her furniture and various other items.
The name “Lena’s house” refers to its last inhabitant, Lena Skrivanou.

Mykonos Archaeological Museum

The Archaeological Museum of Mykonos was established in 1902.
It was set up to preserve findings recovered from the Purification Pit (a hole that contained numerous urns and vessels of offerings), which dates back to 426-425 B.C. The pit was unearthed in 1898 by the renowned scholar D. Stavropoulos from the picturesque islet of Rheneia. The museum was designed by the famous architect, Alexandros Lykakis. Constructing the building that houses the museum was an idea of the Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Archaeological Society of Athens.

Delos has one of the most important archaeology sites in Greece. That is why a visit to this island is practically a trip back in time to Ancient Greece!
 
Boats depart from the old port of Mykonos, located in Chora. In the summer, there are daily ferry crossings to Delos, taking approximately 30 minutes. You can buy ferry tickets from the ticket offices in Chora, Mykonos.
